Cheap Log Houses – Homes With Personality

Wood coming straight from the forest, treated and then put into a home’s structure just the way it comes from Mother Nature – nothing can match the beauty of a log house in which the obvious shapes are an open invitation in the middle of a healthy environment, not altered by the passage of time and civilization. We have previously mentioned the pros of building with wood, regardless of the technology used, as more and more people look for an alternative to the classic brick, AAC constructions in more efficient and friendlier materials. So here are some cheap log houses in different designs.

The first plan shows a holiday retreat built on a single level and spreading on 41 square meters. It is a beautiful small house, featuring a front porch which is an indispensable space when spending time at the heart of nature, where a relaxing seating area can be set up easily. The layout features an open space which includes the living, dining and kitchen, while the other half of the space is taken up by a bedroom and a bathroom. The price for the building semi-finite kit varies depending on the diameter of the log, from 200 to 340 Euros, for building under 100 square meters.

The same plan, but featuring an extra level, accommodating large families, sitting on 48 square meters. The ground floor comes in the same plan as before, while in the attic the builder chose to use the space for a recreation room. But the space can be practically utilized to meet actual living needs, with at least one bedroom easy to set up.

The third example is a two story log house, spreading on 144 square meters. The house displays the same classic design of a log house, embellished by a front terrace covered by a beautiful wooden pergola. On the ground floor, the space is entirely dedicated to family and socializing activities while the first floor houses two bedrooms and a bathroom. The builders say the structure kit costs 250 Euros per square meter (without foundation, windows, door and roof cover), including transport, structure building and wood treatment.

Finally, the fourth example is a single level home sitting on 56 square meters, of which 16.5 is the surface of the deck surrounding the place on two sides. The house is built from 30 cm diameter logs, sanded and manually joined. The plan features two bedrooms and a bathroom, at an approximate price of 20,000 Euros.
