The Penthouse Apartment In Kiev – When Nature Meets Modern

When the owner of an apartment located on the 30th floor of a building in the Ukrainian capital Kiev wanted to radically change his living space he hired designer Olga Akulova. His demands were very clear: he wanted a space to relax in especially from his busy day at work. But aside from that, he also wants it to be a place for fun, entertainment and partying with friends, feeling the vibrations of life. The designer did accordingly and set up a space replete with vitality, in which the design comes as a mix of modern and contemporary style with some hints of industrial style too, according to Homedesignlover.com.

The interior got a profound note of masculinity with the use of concrete, unfinished walls, blurred by dynamic lines and modern colors. Even the furniture has a modern yet distinct design with a mix of straight and curved lines. Tracking lights are used here as well as some industrial looking fixtures to illuminate the space. Floor to ceiling windows allow natural light into the interior of the home that was framed with steel.

Wooden cabinets, black pendant lights, planters with storage space included, room dividers with integrated fireplace and TV and walk-in wardrobe and glass walls – the whole space is full of vitality through diversity.

The bedroom can be accessed from the living area, the two rooms being separated by walls with integrated wooden cabinets so the owner makes the best of the space. The bedroom is connected to a lounge area with impressive panoramic views which can also be used as a work space. The two rooms are separated through a folding glass door and a curtain for extra privacy.

But the best surprise the designer prepared for her customer is just about to come! The bathroom features a living wall, a rare presence in a block apartment, basically letting nature invade the concrete and cement space and giving it a well-deserved feel of energy. And since this was not enough, at the base of the green wall lies a wooden tube with an original curvy design, a genuine natural symbiosis on the 30th floor of a block of flats. Those moments of relaxation in the bath tub right under the green foliage must be a truly unique time!
