10 Bed Placement Rules For A Perfect Sleep

For those uninitiated, the title could bring an innocent smile to their faces. But since the bedroom plays a central role in our lives, being that place where we rebuild our energy reserves, some tips about the positioning of the bed in a room can only be helpful. Remember that we spend one third of your life sleeping, observing these bed placement rules according to the Feng Shui principles can help you rest better in order to have the energy necessary to successfully address the challenges of the new day ahead.

For a start, make sure the bed is positioned as far from the door as possible. Place the bed in the area further from the door or diagonally from the door, but not in line with the door. In other words, you want to be able to see the door while in bed, but not be aligned with the door. The explanation resides in the fact that the bigger the distance, the larger the space before your eyes and the stronger control you feel you exert over this space.

At the same time, have a good supporting wall behind your bed. In addition to a good headboard, you always want to have a solid wall behind your bed. When you sleep under the window, your personal energy tends to get weaker in time, as it has neither proper support, nor protection. As concerns the headboard, subconsciously, your head needs good backing, protection and support, just like your back needs it when you are sitting in a chair for extended periods of time.

Also, if you can, try to avoid placing your bed between the window and a door, or you’ll be in the middle of the “draught” of chi, the universal energy, running between these two places.

Speaking of windows, make sure the room gets as much natural light as possible, without the solar light to fall directly on the bed because it will be thus energetically overloaded which will affect your sleep.

Place two nightstands on either side of the bed to create balance while you sleep. Ideally, you can also place the same lamp on both nightstands, to add some soft lighting to your bedroom. This balance is important for keeping you centered, and especially for maintaining equality in a relationship if you share the bedroom with your partner.

Avoid installing a mirror in the bedroom which to reflect the bed because mirrors are seen as too strong sources of energy for a space destined for rest. And do not place the bed under a ceiling beam because this can exert a feeling of pressure on you affecting your sleep.
