3D Floors, the Future Under Your Feet
We live in a world in constant motion, and this is reflected in any field of activity. Innovation changes our lives and, generally, changes do us good. A company based in Dubai thought of revolutionizing the way we relate to floors in our homes, taking them to new heights, 3D this time. The visual effect matches the progress, as the first impression when you walk into such a room is collapsing in the sea that opens under our feet.
The Dubai-based interior design company Imperial Interiors came up with the “3D Liquid Flooring,” a technique that allows the company to install permanent color images on floors. The images–printed with a special photo printer–are covered in protective epoxy and lacquer. The final result is a 3D image with a surreal optical illusion which is overwhelming while, from a practical point of view, the floors are easy to maintain.
According to the company’s website, the photos cover a wide range of images, from underwater scenes to floors covered in roses. Any of these images, if you want a change, can be covered with paint or by putting a carpet on the moving floor. Painting also allows you to harmonize the room, choosing a vivid color to match the overall color appearance of the room.
There are over 110 models presented on the company’s website, most revolving around water whose visual impact in 3D is much stronger. Altogether, the effects on the eye are impressive and floors that mimic a chasm create such a powerful and frightening optical illusion. Flooring minted in coins, a clock that measures time even under your feet, a river that flows underneath creating the impression of a room in motion, nothing stands in the way of designers of the company in Dubai.
The 3D floors of exquisite beauty are those in which dolphins seems to jump out of the water directly into your room, the elegant swan floating on the water surface or even the cat resting on the head of the marine mammal, wondering if maybe the feline is also painted.
