Houses With Dormers. From Tradition to Modern Design
Houses with attic lit through one or more dormers have an extra elegant touch, no matter what style they are built in. Here are three houses with dormers, in different styles, that show just how these picturesque structures can embellish a building.
The fisrt one is a home in rustic style, completely dressed in wood, with a large dormer with balcony on the facade, above the front exit from the living room. It has a living area of 1,119 square feet.
At the entrance there’s a lobby, then a hallway with the staircase and a bathroom and the entrance in the living room with the dining room and open kitchen in the back.
There are two bedrooms and a large bathroom with dresser attached in the attic. One of the bedrooms has access on the dormer balcony.
Houses with dormers. Classic style
The design of this house is classic and balanced, with large paned windows, brick-decorated foundation contrasting the light walls and a warm color roof decorated with two dormers in front. There’s also a side balcony, surrounded by a nice wooden fence. Living area is 1,313 sq. ft.
Passing the lobby, there’s a small hallway with the kitchen on one side and a lavatory with laundry/ utility room attached on the other, then the entrance in the living and dining room, set in front of a fireplace.
In the attic there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. The latter and the bedroom next to it are lit through the dormers. The same bedroom and the one behind it have access to the side balcony.
Houses with dormers. Modern design
Finally, here’s a house with modern, simple architecture. The entrance is decorated with light colored brick, as the foundation. There’s a triangle dormer in the attic and a small uncovered porch on the side. Living area is 1,248 sq. ft.
The ground floor is divided by a hallway between the living room, on one hand, and the kitchen, a lavatory and the utility room on the other hand.
In the attic there are a master bedroom with dressing, two smaller ones and a bathroom lit through the dormer.
