The English style interior design means first of all tradition and sobriety, but comfort and pragmatism at the same time. Britons are mad about mingling and this penchant translates into the interior design in creating a conversational environment for the host and the guest and, at the same time, a micro- climate of privacy around them. Even though many foreigners expect English homes to be too formal, but, once inside, they are surprised to discover a relaxing interior which answers the owners\u2019 practical needs. Traditional rigor can be found in the old element of the home, perfectly blending the modern touches.<\/p>\n

The first picture shows an authentic English country house, one which gives ways its age judging by the numerous traditional elements inside it. An apparent cluttered room, but it is those things that give a room a permanent look, and a depth of feeling. A series of patterns and strong carpets, soften the eighteenth century paneling, which is painted in a shade between duck egg blue and watery green. Pictures are perfectly hung. Large imposing portraits on the walls and small charming watercolors in tight groups around the fireplace.<\/p>\n

Again, the sofa and the ottoman placed around the fireplace to create a place fit for socializing activities. The room, with its overall formal and sober aspect, is enlivened by the strong colors in accessories, pillows and rugs. In the next picture, the purple check chair stands alone against the black painted woodwork and ivory colored busts.<\/p>\n
