The Victorian style means, first of all, strongly personalized houses so that, architects say, no two are alike. Towers and turrets, porches and bays and embellished with gingerbread, shingles, imposing gables and fanciful windows – the Victorian style abounds in architectural features which make it easily distinguishable. Here are three Victorian style house plans, genuine architectural masterpieces which have carried their fairy-tale like feel for more than 100 years.

The first plan shows a two story house spreading on 226 square meters, featuring a design rich in decorative elements, but also practical, drawn to facilitate family interaction. On the main level, the space is mostly reserved for daytime activities, with the living spilling into the kitchen and other traditional use rooms and connected to a dining which opens onto a porch. On the first floor, four bedrooms complete the rest and intimacy space, with the master bedroom featuring the Victorian style privilege of having its own large bathroom and dressing.

The second example is a house sitting on 463 square meters, a real mansion in which the design rests visually in the turret in the corner and the wrap-around porch. The main entry is flanked by a library hiding in a parallelepiped volume on the left side, featuring an imposing gable, and a circular body which is home to the dining room. Except for the master bedroom, with its own bathroom and storage spaces, the ground floor is totally dedicated to family and socializing activities, with different points of access to the spacious veranda outside. Four other bedrooms lie on the first floor, along a lounge overlooking the high ceiling living room downstairs.

Finally, the third plan describes a house featuring the same classic shapes, bursting with elegance, with a façade outlined by harmonious angles which make up distinct volumes. The entryway lies in a circular patio which expands upwards into a similar volume, in an architectural duet full of beauty. Even the garage on the right hand side is hidden in a building which hardly gives away its real utility. The ground floor groups the same interconnected daytime spaces adjoining the two verandas, with a private nook hidden in the circular volume. On the first floor rest three bedrooms, with a bathroom expanding into the protruding round volume for a consummate relaxing atmosphere.
