DIY Projects Using Old Jeans – Universal Denim
Sometimes throwing away a worn out pair of jeans is a difficult decision to make, since they carry with them a bunch of memories, especially when you’re young. But the sturdy fabric doesn’t necessarily have to end up in the garbage bin, as the impulse dictates us, but come back to life in different forms and new purposes at home, while keeping our youth time souvenir close to us. Below are several DIY projects using old jeans:
And since we have some already tailored parts why not take advantage of that and turn the old jeans into a useful and elegant pocket purse? The one in the image below has three separate pockets where your gadgets fit perfectly. But the bags can take different designs, based on where and how you will wear them.
The same jeans pockets easily turn into storage spaces we all so much need. They can be placed anywhere, on the walls, on the desk, can be attached to an apron, again, based on the design we chose. Below you can see some telling images in this respect.
Now, if you still want to throw that old pair of jeans away, at least spread it on the floor for a final household mission – a patchwork denim mat to dry your leather boots that once were a perfect match for the old jeans.
Imagination doesn’t stop here and, if some pairs end up on the floor, some take a more elevated role, so to say, such as this chic necklace with a totemic air.
We all need it the kitchen – the oven mitt. With two small denim panels and some old towels to use as interior lining, you can easily make this yourselves at home.
Since we mentioned mitts, using the same denim pieces and some old fabrics or sponge for the interior, you can make a knee pad to use during the gardening activities which sometimes require physical efforts.
Another accessory that comes in handy is a hot cup cozy. We have to admit it looks cool and it will surely draw curios looks when using it in the street.
Last, but not least, a book or notebook cover, especially for the school going kids. Classmates will be envious when seeing this rebel design accessory.
