5 rules to keep in mind when decorating a living room

Consider the traffic – the first thing to think about is the fact that regardless of the pieces of furniture you choose, they must allow the smooth passage through the room-without hindering the objects and, of course, without being have to bend them. So leave a sufficient space between the coffee table and the sofa, but also between the chairs;

Choose a focal point – never underestimate the power of a focal point. Be it windows or areas that you create later. Regardless of the focal point chosen, it is important to arrange furniture around that point of interest;

Create a conversation area – the living room is where we welcome our guests, so it is important to make sure that we have specially designed areas. Thus, the sofas and seats must be placed face to face, but close enough to be able to have pleasant conversations, without having to raise the tone. If the room is larger, you can arrange more of these areas;

Choose a large coffee table – when it comes to coffee tables, the bigger it is, the better. A large coffee table in the middle of the relaxation area is good for aesthetics, but it is also functional. It acts as an anchor in the room, offers enough space for guests ‘ glasses and can be reached from all sides. And if a large coffee table seems too much, then you can replace it with two smaller meals;

Do not push the furniture up into the wall – the size of the room will dictate how far you can place the furniture against the walls, but even in a small room it is good to leave a space of a few centimeters between the furniture and the wall. This allows the camera to breathe and can make the room seem a bit larger. If you have enough space, do not hesitate to arrange seating areas right in the middle of the room.
