Nikolina Gora, Modern Design From Russia
Its name is strictly connected to the location, a suburb area of Moscow sprawling across a hill which overlooks the meanders of the river bearing the same name of the Russian capital. As a matter of fact, “gora” means hill in Russian and the modern design house we will talk about below here seems to display the appearance of a checkpoint which, from the height of the hill where it lies, scours the horizon. But in the end it is only a contemporary design home, partially buried into the ground and which resembles elements of a 3D game, according to Homedesignlover.com
The house, which bears the signature of the Za Bor architecture firm, is composed of two separate buildings towering above the upper platform. The bigger building is for family and rest spaces. This part of the house is cantilevered and it overhangs the ground floor. Here you can see the children’s and master’s bedrooms. The lower half of the house is almost completely integrated into the landscape. The merging platform hides the day time areas.
The bold exterior design is also reflected on the inside, in rooms featuring a series of shapes and colors in which modern design elements easily stand out, personalizing the whole living area. All across the rooms, black and grey shades are broken up by vivid and lighter colors, in a chromatic harmony with strong visual effects. The rooms are al perfectly balanced in terms of color arrangement, while all keeping a central focal point which is highlighted by the generous natural light flowing in.
The master bedroom is simply decorated, exuding a calm atmosphere which is all it takes in such a room. The lobby and the kids’ bedroom get extra colors, enhanced by the wide windows, some of them skylights spreading all across the length of the ceiling for a real avalanche of natural light. The living comes in the same mix of colors which impart calm and harmony. The bathroom follows the same simple chromatic line which makes the interiors appear as a unitary space.
