1. Combine vinegar with essential oil

You can prepare crystal softener by mixing 2 cups kitchen or sea salt with 20-30 drops of the essential oil you desire. Add 1/2 cup baking soda. Pour 2-3 spoons of this mixture directly into the washing mashine before the rinsing cycle begins.
