Houses in the Danube Delta. Your Own Place in This Piece of Heaven

Those who have spent at least one summer vacation in the Danube Delta know that not only the natural scenery is unique and of great beauty, but the dwellings also have something special. Everything in the homes there expresses the local spirit and way of life, from the materials used, tot the shapes and colors. If you are tempted by the idea of owning a place in this heavenly part of the country, here are some different examples of houses in the Danube Delta.

For starters, here are the houses at 5 Chirpici, a touristic complex in Murighiol, designed by Moka Studio Design. There are 4 houses for lodging the tourists, built along a path, like a countryside street, and another that hosts the living and cooking areas. Each of the 4 houses has a small covered front porch, a small hallway and the bedroom and bathroom inside, according to designist.ro.

And this is the inside of the building that includes kitchen, dining and living room, around a huge fireplace, made from cob by local craftsmen.

Everything in the complex observes the local techniques and style: there are reed, cob, stone from Dobrogea region, wood. The outside finishings – the clay plaster, covered in whitewash, the shutters and the roof details, nicely sculpted – were all done by local craftsmen.

Luxury villas

In Crisan village, on a 1,000 square meter plot, two alike villas were built back in 2008. They’re two-story homes on a concrete structures, made from AAC blocks, insulated on the outside with polyester, coated in decorative plaster and with a thatched roof.

The buildings have separate electrical and sanitary systems. The first floor of each house comprises a hallway, living and dining room, kitchen, bathroom and porch, and the second floor – hallway and 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The attic can be used for storage. Both houses are completely furnished and equipped. They have electric stoves, air conditioning, electric water boilers, fridge, TV etc.

There are also a shed, 2 boat-port and a barbecue in the yard. The property faces the Sulina canal, having a water front of about 20 meters, for boating and fishing. In the back there are also 20 meters of canal where a private port has been built.

The price for the entire property is 220,000 euros, and for each house it’s 110,000 euros.

The next house is out for sale in Dunavatul de Jos. It’s situated in a remote area, on a 1,000 sq. ft. plot, with water front. Another house which is not finished is on the same plot , but all the necessary materials for the insulation, finishings and equipment are included.

The finished house has a garage, living and kitchen, enclosed porch, bedroom and bathroom and a utility room with washing machine and storage, on the first floor. The second floor comprises two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The area of this house is around 200 sq. meters. The other one has an area of about 250 sq. meters.
