We all must have them at home or in our parents and grandparents’ places: old dressers, scratched and drab. They look depressing, totally out of the interior landscape, and the first thing that crosses out mind is to throw them away, if so, you’d better think twice: these objects must have a sentimental value in your home. Secondly, when everybody is in the classic and vintage fever, you may have a piece of furniture others crave for. So why not try something else?

For your inspiration, we chose three examples in which the owners refreshed old pieces of furniture, as shown on Thesnug.com. With a little effort and imagination, the items got a whole new look, sprucing up the rooms and cheering up people. Take a look below at how these old dressers came back to life with just a little paint and some other minor fixtures.

A little paint can work wonders, that is plain to see. The proof is the images below that clearly show an old dresser can get a whole new look by just applying a coat of painting. In the first case, the change is amazing: the white worn off clunker looks totally different after the owner puts a new paint on it. To make the change total, he also applies some mirror panels on the drawers and the old item looks shiny. Mirrors help spread natural light across the room and also creates the space impression.

The next image in the series of old dressers makeover with a little paint shows a family heirloom which the younger generation in the family wanted to refresh to give the room a more dynamic rhythm. The change here is also remarkable – the gloomy looking dresser becomes an item of a different allure invigorating the room where it sits.

The last example is even more telling. Scratched and worn off, this dresser seems fit only to become a museum exhibit. The owner disagreed though and turned into a seemingly brand new out of the box furniture item. The navy blue and the gold dipped legs have an impressive visual effect.
